Kaulton Park Ribbon Cutting

The City of Tuscaloosa held a ribbon cutting ceremony for Kaulton Park on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 9 a.m.

Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox, Councilor Raevan Howard and Lieutenant Cory Burns of the Tuscaloosa Police Department spoke during the ceremony.

“We believe in the Kaulton community and the people who live here” said Mayor Walt Maddox. “Words are important, but actions are more important, and the City of Tuscaloosa is keeping our commitment to this community.”

Improvements to Kaulton Park include a new pavilion with restrooms, a new playground, improved lighting and security, and more.

“This is not just a park, this is an investment that will allow our community to keep moving in a positive direction,” said Councilor Raevan Howard. “Let’s keep moving forward.”

“To see this transformation is just astounding,” said Lieutenant Cory Burns. “Growing up in this area, I never dreamed that I would see something like this. Today is a reminder of how far we’ve come and how far we can go.”
